Im not gonna lie I hate this idea that Becky has to be “The Man”  Like I get it. I get what they are trying to say. But to me just wrong but it still has a lot of underlying misogynist tones implying she cant be good at be a woman she HAS to be “The Man” Why cant she just be “The Woman”. Which damn right she is.

This sums up feelings I cldn’t find words for ☝️

It makes me… incredibly uncomfortable tbh 😕. I think it’s been very poorly thought out.

1) If Becky genuinely wants to identify that way? Or if Becky’s non-binary? Great – full support, 100%, hell yes. But… I’m pretty sure she’s a cis woman/identifies as a woman… so… this points to something else…

2) Her history of referring to other women as ‘lads’ ties into this – it’s… erasure.

3) It’s placing ‘man’ as more powerful than ‘woman’, like something to aim for/ascend to? A new power she’s earned? Like, sorry, what?

3) It comes across as ~pick-me/I’m-not-like-other-girls~ bullshit and no thanks
